Students visit Washington D.C.

This past June, 36 students and nine chaperones took the annual history trip to Washington, D.C. The youths’ visit included the Lincoln, Jefferson and Washington memorials, Gettysburg, the Holocaust memorial, Yorktown, colonial Williamsburg, the Smithsonian Museum, the Bureau of Printing and Engraving, The White House, the House of Representatives, Camden Yards in Baltimore, Monticello, Mount Vernon, Arlington National Cemetery and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and Ford Theater, and they met with Representative Elton Gallegly before a tour of the Capitol Building. Preparations are already being made for the history trip in June 2009. Students will have numerous fundraisers throughout the year, beginning with a Walkathon October 25.
