Makenzie Ming, age 6, recently got a very special haircut from Tisa Grant at Tisa’s Salon & Spa. Makenzie donated her hair to “Locks of Love,” which is a nonprofit organization that uses donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics for financially disadvantaged children under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss (including cancer-related treatments). The prostheses helps to restore the children’s’ self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.
Locks of Love accepts 10-inch minimum length (tip to tip) of clean, dry hair, bundled into a ponytail or braid. For more information, visit their web site at http://www.locksoflove.org.
