District Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced on February 14 that David Glen Snader (DOB 12/18/84) of Camarillo has been charged with felony auto insurance fraud.
District Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced on February 14 that David Glen Snader (DOB 12/18/84) of Camarillo has been charged with felony auto insurance fraud. Snader was scheduled to be arraigned February 15 at Ventura Superior Court. He was arrested February 7 by California Highway Patrol officers working with the Ventura County Auto Theft Task Force.According to detectives from the Ventura County Auto Theft Task Force, on September 28, 2007, Snader reported to the Oxnard Police Department that his 2000 Lincoln sedan was stolen after he parked it across the street from his friend’s residence the previous night. Two days later, he filed a claim for his “stolen vehicle” with his insurance company, Esurance.One week earlier, however, a Ventura County Sheriff’s deputy located the defendant’s vehicle abandoned in a Camarillo parking lot. The abandoned car was then towed to a nearby tow lot. The car was still in the tow lot when Snader claimed he last drove it. Additional investigation revealed that Snader had conspired with an unknown accomplice to dispose of his vehicle so that Snader could report his car “stolen” and collect insurance money from Esurance.
