Join the Gold Coast Concert Chorus in concert on Friday, March 16 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, March 17 at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1500 N. C St., Oxnard. The chorus, under the direction of Elizabeth Helms and with full orchestra, will celebrate America Masterworks in the 20th and 21st centuries, featuring Ed Lojeski’s recent composition “Missa Americana”, a beautiful blending of the old and the new, of classical harmonies and hymn tunes with the distinctly American sounds of jazz and the blues.Also featured will be the classical beauty of American master Randal Thompson, the driving rhythms and energy of Leonard Bernstein, the deep soulfulness of Duke Ellington, and the glorious inspiration of Aaron Copland.
