Ventura County Public Health is seeking grant applications beginning August 11 from community groups to promote nutrition education among low-income, Food Stamp eligible residents in qualifying Gold Coast regions of Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.
Ventura County Public Health is seeking grant applications beginning August 11 from community groups to promote nutrition education among low-income, Food Stamp eligible residents in qualifying Gold Coast regions of Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.
Made possible with a grant from the California Department of Health Services, the second round, 2006-2007 Mini-Grant program will fund five to eight projects for up to $4,999 each. A total of $26,000 is available during this funding cycle.
Applications are encouraged from community-based organizations, local health jurisdictions and educational institutions. Preference will be given to projects that focus on direct nutrition education and empower the participants to promote environmental changes for improved nutrition.
