The Santa Paula Elementary School District is considering changes in attendance boundaries.

By Brian D. WilsonSanta Paula TimesThe Santa Paula Elementary School District is considering changes in attendance boundaries.Under the proposed changes the district is proposing the transfer to Barbara Webster School of all students now residing in the Blanchard School attendance area at the east end of Grant Line and East of South Mountain Road. District Superintendent Dr. Luis Villegas says the students involved are already attending Barbara Webster or Grace Thille for the most part. “So, what we’re doing for the change for that area is saying it’s a good idea that we change the boundaries so they go to those schools because they’re doing it anyway,” Villegas added. The second part of the plan would involve the current McKevett attendance area north of Harvey Drive transferring to the Thelma Bedell attendance area.
Even with the changes student would be allowed to continue attending the schools in which they are currently enrolled. In addition, Villegas says the district is coming up with a comprehensive, long-range facilities review. The Board of Education will take action on the changes at their regular meeting on June 14.
