The Lady Cardinals opened their basketball season at home against Hueneme High this week.
The JV lost their game 42-25 and the varsity dropped a close one 39-36.Hueneme took an early 22-15 lead but by the third quarter Santa Paula had tied the game at 22 apiece. The Lady Vikings did not score during the entire second quarter.With about three minutes on the clock in the fourth quarter the game was tied 31-31. With just seconds left, Hueneme pushed ahead and took the game as time ran out.
