Santa Paula Lemons win a nail biter

The Santa Paula Lemons won another wild one, 29-25 over the host, Simi Grey Ghosts. The Lemons are a part of the Gold Coast Senior Slow-pitch league. There were lots of hits and lots of errors in the two hour, 15 minute game. Tied 5-5 in the third, 15-15 in the fifth, the Lemons made three errors and allowed two walks for Simi to tie 22-22 in the sixth inning.Finally, in the seventh the Lemons had eight straight hits and scored seven runs and held on for the win. Ken Arg, Ralph DeLeon and John Wisda hit 5-for-6. Dave Stegman went 4-for-6. Bob Berg, Rey Jiminez and Allen Erickson were 3-for-5 and Bob Russell was 2-for-5.The Lemons lost games the last two weeks to Oxnard and Ventura, but beat the other Simi team, Golden Oldies, 16-7 the previous game. In that game, Bob Berg hit 5-for-5 with a triple, Ralph DeLeon went 3-for-5, including a home run.
