Fillmore slips past Cardinals

The Cardinal varsity boys led at the half over Fillmore, 21-14, but the Flashes came back in the second half and won the game, 55-47. Santa Paula and Fillmore were tied 8-8 at the end of the first quarter. The Cards edged past Fillmore and had the lead at the half, but the Flashes caught up and tied the Cardinals 34-34 at the end of the third quarter. From that point on Fillmore took control and went on for the win.Andy Rico (#41) led Santa Paula in scoring with 15 points, including two three-pointers. He also had four rebounds and five steals. Chepe Lara (#32) hit the hoop for 10 points and recorded six rebounds and one assist. Aaron Argueta had eight points, 18 rebounds, three assists and nine steals. Ryan Racicot and Angel Camarillo each had four points.The Cards have a 3-12 season record and start League play at home against Nordhoff on January 28.
