Dorothy Ann Phillips Dorothy Ann Phillips, 86, of Santa Paula, died Monday, February 25, 2002 at Santa Paula Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. She was a 38-year county resident, coming from Los Angeles in 1964.Dorothy Ann was born on December 8, 1915 in Detroit, Michigan to Ulysses and Adelia Phillips. She graduated with a BA degree in Religion from Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan in 1950. During Dorothy Ann’s career she was a teacher, social worker and secretary, and was last employed at White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles.For more than 20 years, Dorothy Ann participate in the annual Walk for Hunger Crop Walk. She loved to write poetry, which the Santa Paula Times published. Dorothy Ann was a member of the Ventura Seventh Day Adventist Church.She will be missed by her many friends.Visitation was scheduled Thursday, February 28 from 1 to 8 p.m. at Pierce Brothers Stetler Mortuary, 128 S. 8th Street. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 1 at Santa Paula Cemetery with Pastor William Colburn, Ventura Seventh Day Adventist Church, officiating.
