McKevett School Principal Lydia Olivo and custodian Bucho Zamora were doused with ice cream and all the toppings for a good sundae last Friday. McKevett students gathered in front of the school to watch the pair become human sundaes. Olivo had challenged the students to raise $4,000 at a jog-a-thon. In fact, they brought in almost $6,000. She pledged to become a sundae if they met their goal. Zamora jumped in after the goal was exceeded. The money will go towards field trips and school supplies. “I do this because of your hard work,” Olivo said. “I’m very proud of you. You’re the best students in Santa Paula.”
