Francisco Avila of Santa Paula has been named Executive Director of the Santa Paula Chamber of Commerce, according to Anne Davis, President.“Francisco brings a new and fresh set of skills and perspectives to the Chamber and its desire to be The Voice of Business for the business community. Avila and his wife Donna have four children and have lived in Santa Paula for two years. He is currently working as the Human Resources Consultant for an ambulance company in Hawthorne and is the part-time pastor of Calvary Chapel on Ojai Road.“Our director’s position is a little more than half-time due to our budget limitations and we feel that with the extensive volunteer time commitment of the Chamber directors, we can meet our goals and objectives”.
Avila’s background includes new company start-ups, business development, comprehensive human resources services, contract negotiations and fundraising. “He is well aware of the importance of non-dues revenue which will help shape our Chamber’s financial stability as we design new programs to benefit the business community,” Davis noted. “This is particularly important now that the Directors have completed their strategic planning session and have identified the goals and objectives of the two-year business plan.”Avila was selected from a field of five candidates who applied for the position. “Avila’s talents and skills suit the direction of the Chamber and will serve us well as we seek to serve the entire business community of Santa Paula,” Davis commented.
