SPIRIT of Santa Paula receives donation from Lions Club

A $500 donation was given to the SPIRIT of Santa Paula for their continued work with the homeless and hungry families of Santa Paula. SPIRIT board member Dawn Bavero receives the check from Lions Club member Ken Ary. The weekly cooking crew is gathered to being preparing the weekly meal.

Thanks to FOOD Share, approximately one ton of food is gathered each week and distributed within the community. On Wednesdays a hot meal is served and USDA food supplies are distributed once a month.

SPIRIT is also the sponsor of the National Day of Prayer, the winter homeless shelter at El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church, the Drop-In Center at First United Methodist Church, Many Meals at the Presbyterian Church of Santa Paula, and the transitional housing center. More than 65,000 meals have been served to Santa Paula residents over the last three years.
