Jannette Jauregui, a columnist whose profiles on local military veterans have been featured in the Ventura County Star for 10 years, has completed her book Ventura County Veterans: World War II to Vietnam.

The book, published by Arcadia Publishing as part of the Images of America series, is slated to be released on July 4th.

More than 200 military veterans from Ventura County are featured in the book, alongside short narratives focusing on their time in the service. Jauregui began profiling military veterans from Ventura County in 2001 at 19-years-old. Since then, she has written more than 100 profiles chronicling the combat and non-combat experiences of the local heroes. Jauregui has also served as a keynote speaker for several veteran groups and a variety of veteran-focused events.

A book signing event will be held on Thursday, July 7th, at 6 p.m. at Garmans Restaurant and Irish Pub located at 932 E. Main Street in Santa Paula.  Books can be purchased at the event for $21 (price includes tax), and will be signed by Jauregui upon request. For those unable to attend the event, orders will be accepted by Jauregui for shipment.

Books may also be purchased for $21.99 plus tax at local Barnes and Noble retailers or Amazon.com.
