Rio Mesa Spartans overtake Cardinals 14-5 in Saturday game

The Cardinal varsity lost to the visiting Rio Mesa Spartans Saturday, 14-5.
All of the Santa Paula runs came in the fourth inning. Cardinal pitcher Steven Kohr suffered the loss. The Spartans scored in all but two of the seven-inning contest.
Aaron Gomez again led Santa Paula at the plate. He went 1 for 2, with a home run and 2 walks. Tony Penuelas was 2 for 3 with a double and 3 RBIs.
The Cardinals host Fillmore this afternoon at 3:30 pm.
