The Lady Cardinal soccer team traveled to play Milken Community High School Wednesday in Brentwood and came away with a well-deserved 3-1 victory.

The girls play St. Margaret’s High School at home today in the CIF Division VI quarterfinal game.  St. Margaret’s is in San Juan Capistrano.  The time of today’s contest is set for 3:30 p.m.

Wednesday’s game, played under drizzly skies, was dominated by Santa Paula.  The Lady Cards scored twice in the first half and sealed the win in the second half.  Taylor Alvarado, Yuliana Garcia and Lupita Magana scored the goals.  Alvarado and Magana were also credited with assists.

Coach Jose Cordova said his team played beautifully.  “They were aggressive and we made the goals when we needed to,” he added.
