The United Way of Ventura County recently launched its new Business & Professional Partnership (BPP) program which is comprised of a group of business professionals and community leaders coming together to commit to promoting United Way’s effort to Advance the Common Good.BPP members will advocate, organize, and lead efforts in finding opportunities to give back to their community. These efforts will help support United Way’s Community Impact Fund which supports the building blocks of a good life - Education, Income, Health. United Way-supported programs and services provide much-needed support to the residents of Ventura County. “United Way is about bringing people together to help solve community issues locally,” said David M. Smith, President and CEO of United Way of Ventura County. “BPP is our way to respond to the growing needs of our community by harnessing the generous power of the business community.”Local businessman Ernie Villegas was the first individual to sign-up in support of the United Way’s efforts to bring the small business community together. He stated: “As a small business leader, my most pressing issue is to help grow and build my business, but giving back to my community is something that I am most passionate about. I find United Way the most effective means to give back to the community because it is more than just helping one or two non-profit agencies, but truly influences the condition of all. I find that investment solid and worthwhile.”
