Santa Paula News
The First Christian Church of Santa Paula is getting a new roof. This is the first work done on the church and social hall roofs since 1955. The church was built in 1900 and is a historical landmark. It is the last wooden Victorian church in Santa Paula. The church is located at 829 Railroad Avenue, at the western edge of the Transportation Plaza. West American Roofing was chosen for the project, in part because of the beautiful job they did on Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church on 7th Street. The existing roof was severely compromised on the northern side of the church. The work was necessary in order to protect this historical building and the beautiful and irreplaceable hardwood ceiling. The work will be completed by August 25th. Church services will be held as normal on Sundays at 10am.Congregation members have raised the funds to get the project underway. Fundraising continues and anyone wishing to donate to this project may contact Karen Portlock at 805 223-5756.
