Disaster Readiness Exercise at Twin Pines Healthcare

With the help of the Santa Paula Fire Department, employees at Twin Pines Healthcare participated in a disaster readiness exercise on June 26, 2009. Facilities like Twin Pines Healthcare are required to hold a disaster drill at least once a year for their employees. The drill included evacuation of a “resident” from their room to an emergency set up in the dining room. (The “resident” was portrayed by Jackie Vigil, Activity Director). The drill also included a hands-on fire extinguisher lesson from Captain Lazenby and Firemen Brian Eaton and John Harber. The Twin Pines employees used a fire extinguisher to put out an actual fire under the supervision and guidance of the Santa Paula Firemen.Twin Pines Healthcare would like to thank the Santa Paula Fire Department for their assistance with the disaster drill.
