The League of Women Voters of Ventura County is sponsoring a timely program on transportation in Ventura County - what do we have vs. what we need? Join us on Tuesday, February 24th, at the County Office of Education Building, 5100 Adolfo Road in Camarillo, 10 AM to Noon, for stimulating discussion and light refreshments. Panelists include Darren Kettle, Executive Director of the Ventura County Transportation Commission, David Solow, Chief Executive Officer of the entity that runs MetroLink, Carmen Ramirez of CAUSE, and Bob Warnagieris, a volunteer with AARP.This forum is planned as part of the LWV VC’s preparation for expected debates on infrastructure needs locally, statewide and throughout the nation. Together the panelists will provide:• An assessment of current facilities and services for intra and inter county public transit in serving community needs as well as those of special populations;• Their views on priority needs to address in the near term as well as future priorities for the County;
• Their perspectives on the roads vs. buses and trains debate.The Agenda for the forum will allow adequate time for each speaker and a question and answer period for the audience. The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization formed to encourage informed and active participation in government. It influences public policy through education and advocacy.For information call the League line at 648-4731 or 797-4757.
