The latest advancement in the treatment of urinary incontinence in women will be the focus of a free seminar the Community Memorial Health System is holding on Tuesday, May 13.

The latest advancement in the treatment of urinary incontinence in women will be the focus of a free seminar the Community Memorial Health System is holding on Tuesday, May 13.Patrick Diesfeld, M.D., who specializes in obstetrics-gynecology, will lead the discussion during the seminar to be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in the eighth-floor Nichols Auditorium at Community Memorial Hospital at 147 Brent St. in Ventura.Urinary incontinence is a common and embarrassing condition, with 40 percent of U.S. women suffering from urine loss, usually as a consequence of childbirth and aging. New advances in medical and surgical treatment now offer relief to most women. Dr. Diesfeld will discuss the latest modalities, including safe and effective outpatient treatments.
Dr. Diesfeld is a fellow in the American College of Obstetrics-Gynecology, a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics-Gynecology and a fellow in the American Urogynecology Society. He is also an assistant clinical professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA as well as assistant residency director of the Department of Obstetrics-Gynecology at the UCLA School of Medicine. Dr. Diesfeld is a longtime member of the medical staff at Community Memorial Hospital.Admission is free, but space is limited, so reservations are suggested. Call 652-5436.
