Santa Paula News
In honor of Earth Day April 22, the Kidz Care community clean-up crew displayed their “Litterbug Project” in front of the Santa Paula Family Resource Center on Main Street April 16. The display was a clothes rack with trash hanging from string, topped by a sign reading “Santa Paula, You Dropped This.” Kidz Care participants decided to display the trash they collected to show Santa Paulans how many litterbugs are dropping trash on our streets. Santa Paulans were also asked to sign their names and make a pledge to Mother Earth to do their part to help keep our city streets litter-free. Kidz Care is a group of children ages 8-16 who provide community service throughout the city of Santa Paula. Part of the group’s responsibility is to do trash clean-up. For more information or to join Kidz Care, please stop by or call the Santa Paula Family Resource Center, located at 940 E. Main St., at 525-6616. Kidz Care participants pictured in front of their “Litterbug Project” display are Jason Castaneda, Maggie Navarro, Jessica Castaneda, Brandy Mendez, Natalie Sandoval, Andy Mendez, Xitlaly Santos, Genessis Rosal, Alexis Macias, Alonso Nunez, Jovani Galindo, and Angel Aguayo.
