Maritime Museum hosts U.S. Coast Guard birthday celebration

The Ventura County Maritime Museum will celebrate the 217th birthday of the United States Coast Guard with a reception at the Maritime Museum from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, August 4.

The Ventura County Maritime Museum will celebrate the 217th birthday of the United States Coast Guard with a reception at the Maritime Museum from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, August 4. The reception will honor the service of the men and women of the U.S. Coast Guard Station Channel Islands Harbor, the Ventura County-based Coast Guard Cutter Blacktip, the Ventura County USCG Recruiting Station, USCG Auxiliary members, USCG reservists, and USCG veterans and retirees.The reception is open to the public and will afford the opportunity to meet the professionals who provide marine search and rescue and coastal security for Ventura County. USCG attendees in uniform and their immediate families are admitted free; the cost for Maritime Museum members is $3, $5 for the general public.
The Ventura County Maritime Museum is located in Fisherman’s Wharf in Channel Islands Harbor at the corner of South Victoria and Channel Islands Boulevard in Oxnard. For more information, contact Maritime Museum staff at 984-6260.
