Oaks Christian shuts down varsity and JV boys

The Cardinal varsity lost out to Oaks Christian 20-0 in an away game this week. Coach Manuel Herrera said he put in three pitchers and they all did their job, but there “was no hitting and no defense,” he said. Johnny Carrillo broke up a Lions’ no-hitter in the top of the seventh inning, the only Santa Paula hit of the game.The JV boys hosted the Oaks Christian Lions and sent the Lions home with a 14-0 win.Santa Paula had one hit in the game, but that went into a double play.
