Santa Paula Chamber names Citizen of the Year 2004

Santa Paula’s Citizen of the Year for 2004 is Xavier Montes, known as “Big X” to many of his family and friends. He was selected by a committee chaired by current Citizens of the Year, Bob and Tillie Borrego, and four other past recipients of this award. “Xavier was selected from al field of nominees that came from the community largely because of the humble way he lives his life and his dedication to his community and the arts,” said Anna Manzano, president of the Santa Paula Chamber of Commerce. “Xavier has brought notoriety and prestige to all of Santa Paula through his music and his efforts with De Colores. This award is very deserving.”Montes will be honored at the Chamber’s annual dinner on January 22, 2005 at the Community Center.
