Georgia Matye
Georgia Matye, age 73, of Redding, passed away at her home on January 17, 2000. She was born December 1, 1926 in Corona.
A homemaker for 50 years, Mrs. Matye was a resident of Shasta County since 1998, coming from Sutherlin, Oregon. While a resident of Santa Paula she was a member of the Santa Paula Foursquare Church, and of the Santa Paula Bowling League.
She is survived by son Ken (Robin Baldwin) Matye of Redding; daughters, Royce (Art) Jones of Sutherlin, OR, Jane (Dennis) Lindemann of Roseburg, OR, and Cassandra (Joseph) Zucco of Santa Paula; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, who died in February 1999, son James, and parents, Yuba and Gracie Fox of Santa Paula.
Louise A. Manzetti-Del Dosso-Finnell-Mashaw
Louise A. Manzetti-Del Dosso-Finnell-Mashaw, age 101, of Thousand Oaks, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2000 in Thousand Oaks after a brief illness.
She was born October 30, 1898 in Silver Plume, Colorado. Louise spent her early years in the coal mining camps of southern Colorado, from Sopris-Pick to Walsenberg, Ludlow and Tercio.
In 1922, Louise and her son moved to Fillmore after the death of her first husband, Pete Del Dosso, in a coal mine accident. Louise and her sister Marie owned the Town House Hotel in Fillmore from 1944 to 1965.
She is survived by her son Donald and wife Mary Del Dosso of Thousand Oaks; grandsons, Mike Del Dosso of Ventura, David and his wife Cindy Del Dosso of Thousand Oaks, and Mark and his wife Linda Del Dosso of Thousand Oaks; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her three husbands.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 26 at 10 a.m. at Santa Paula Cemetery, with the Reverend Merle Lehman of the First United Methodist Church of Santa Paula officiating.
