July 4th ceremony honors Moreton Bay Fig Tree

The ceremony for the 4th of July celebration and commemoration of the 125-year-old Moreton Bay fig tree begins at 9:30 a.m. in front of the Santa Paula Depot.
The ceremony for the 4th of July celebration and commemoration of the 125-year-old Moreton Bay fig tree begins at 9:30 a.m. in front of the Santa Paula Depot. Activities include a color guard ceremony, the history of the Moreton Bay fig tree, a reading of the Declaration of Independence, patriotic songs, and exhibits of war memorabilia. There will also be a pancake breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. Tickets are $2 for presale and $3 at the event and are available at City Hall and the Chamber of Commerce.
