Mupu Elementary just held its annual Spelling Bee on January 19, 2016. Scholars worked diligently, spelling excruciatingly tricky words. We had 36 contestants, and 14 rounds. A winner emerged, and note, he has won three years in a row. His name is Matthew Phillips! Zachary Addison was the runner up twice in a row! Matthew did not miss his first word until the 8th round; the word was “force majeure.” Zach misspelled “seaworthiness”, and Matt had to spell the next two words correctly. Those two words were “campaign” and “titanic.” We are all very proud of all the Mupu scholars that participated.
