Lawrence Robert Lasure 

Belleville, WI

Lawrence Robert Lasure passed away following a stroke on Wednesday,  January 6, 2016.  Larry was born “ in a tent” in Porterville, Ca, one of nine children, parents Merrill C. Lasure and Grace Lasure.

Larry graduated Porterville High School in 1949 and in 1950 he enlisted in the Air Force where he was trained to be an airplane mechanic.

Larry met and married Marlene Waelti while stationed at Truax Air Field in Madison, WI. They were married in Belleville, WI as he finished his enlistment.

They moved to Santa Paula, Ca in 1955 where they were quite active in Little League with their boys and active in the First United Methodist Church of Santa Paula.   Larry was employed by State Farm Insurance and then by the US Postal Service while in Santa Paula.  In 1970 the family moved to Dayton, WI and worked on the Waelti dairy farm. After a few years they moved into Belleville, WI.

Larry is survived by his wife Marlene, sons Steven (Rebecca) of Eau Claire, WI.  Timothy (Sharon) of Waukesha WI., Kenneth (Laurie) of Spring Valley,WI. Robert (Karen) of Stoughton, WI., Daughter Jacque (Michael) of Argyle, WI.  He is also survived by sisters Frances Bay, Olita Dion, and Joyce Rounds (Terry) of  Santa Paula, CA and Jean Leach of Okla City, OK.  Brother David Lasure (Bonnie) of Twin Falls, ID.

He is also survived by eleven grand children and nine great grand children. He was preceded in death by his father and mother and brothers Marvin and James and sister Phyllis.

Services were held in Belleville, WI on Monday, January 11 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home with burial and full military honors at the Belleville Cemetary.
