In another matter, the Board voted to go from the current two meetings a month schedule to one meeting a month on the second Wednesday.
The Santa Paula Unified School District board held their reorganization meeting for 2016 Wednesday night.
Each December the board elects new officers for the coming year. Chris Wilson was elected as Board President, Kelsey Stewart was named Vice President and Christina Urias was selected as Board Clerk.
SPUSD Superintendent Alfonso Gamino thanked outgoing President Michelle Kolbeck for her leadership. “You have led the District and made a positive difference in the education our students are receiving by way of decisions this Board has made,” he said.
Gamino listed accomplishments made this past year under Kolbeck’s leadership. And he added, “Your leadership and dedication to this District and the community is to be commended. The community values and respects you and this Board for all that has been accomplished and will continue to accomplish.” He also said, “Your efforts in making the Santa Paula Unified District a success is to be commended. You and this Board have led the District and succeeded in moving the District forward.”
