Bobby “Bob” Charles Carroll

Lake Arrowhead resident Bobby “Bob” Charles Carroll, age 85, passed away suddenly on Oct. 26, 2015. Always on the go, Bob was working at the time of his passing, doing what he loved, selling real estate. Bob was born in Chickasha, Okla., and raised in Santa Paula, Calif., by his parents, Coy and Anna Mae Carroll. After graduating high school, Bob joined the Navy and served during the Korean War earning three medals: Korean Service Medal, Navy Occupation Medal and a United Nations Service Medal. Prior to serving, Bob married JoAnn Fellows, also from Santa Paula.

Upon his return from his service, Bob and his wife moved to Santa Monica, where he returned to school and then went on to graduate from UCLA’s School of Engineering. While going to school and living in Santa Monica, Bob and JoAnn had their first of two children, Brenton Charles Carroll.

After graduation, Bob obtained his first engineering job at Collins Radio, located in Newport Beach. In 1961, the young couple relocated to Costa Mesa, where they had their second son, Gregory Paul Carroll.

Bob loved the outdoors and spent many vacations camping and boating with his family and friends. Lake Powell and the Colorado River were two of his favorite places to spend doing what he loved. Because Bob was outgoing and loved engaging with people, he naturally drifted into the sales side of any business he worked at.

In 1988, Bob married the love of his life, Dedie Dent Carroll, and they relocated to San Mateo. After living a number of years in Northern California and spending time boating, skiing and traveling, Bob and Dedie retired and spent the next year touring the U.S. in their motorhome. Wanting to settle closer to their children and grandchildren, combined with their love of the

outdoors, Bob and Dedie decided to move to Lake Arrowhead. Later, Bob took up residential sales working at Coldwell Banker Sky Ridge Realty.

For the past 18 years, Bob and Dedie became very active in the Lake Arrowhead community gaining numerous friends and business associates. Bob was a member of Mountain Bruins and the Lake Arrowhead Rotary for the past 10 years.

Bob is survived by his wife of 29 years, Dedie; his son Brent and his wife, Carrie, and their three children, Blake, Lauren and Devon; his youngest son Greg and his wife, Fiona, and their three children, Ian, Alec and Clayton; Dedie’s two children, Denton Bullard and his wife, Nanette, and their son Dylan; Dedie’s daughter Kari Messick and her husband, Dane, and their combined family of Rachel, Allison and Austin. Bob is also survived by his sister Billie Ann Moore of Santa Paula and her three children.

Bob’s Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday November 28th at 11:00 A.M. at Norman P Murry Center, Mission Viejo, 24932 Veterans Way, Mission Viejo, California.
