Dora E. Hernandez 

Aurora(Dora)Escamilla Hernandez was born on September 30, 1924 in Degollado, Jalisco, Mexico to Ramon Perez Escamilla and Maria Morales Escamilla. She passed away peacefully on September 16, 2015 surrounded by her loved ones. 

As a young girl, she grew up in Camulos near Castaic then Piru where she lived for many years. Dora moved to Santa Paula in 1946 when she married Arthur C. Hernandez. After 28 years of marriage, they divorced in 1974. They had three children: Viola, Jim and Arthur Jr. (Popie). After her divorce, Dora worked at several jobs subsequently retiring from Santa Paula Hospital. Dora loved gardening. Every seed she planted flourished. She enjoyed her family, trips to Laughlin, as well as Mexico and Hawaii. She took pride in her home and appearance. 

She is preceded by her parents, son Popie, brothers Augustine and Rudy Escamilla.

Dora is survived by her longtime companion Robert Rodriguez, children Viola Tovias and Jim Hernandez: affectionately known as Nana Doda or Dodie to her grandchildren Eric, Mia and Steven Tovias, Lisa and Greg Hernandez and Dede Sandoval. She is also survived by 8 great grandsons and 1 great-great granddaughter, 4 sisters and 3 brothers.
