David O. Avendaño
David O. Avendaño, 76, of Santa Paula, CA passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at home in the presence of his loving wife, Eva of 58 years and his two daughters. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends.
David was born on October 21, 1938 in Calexico, CA. At a very early age, he moved to Santa Paula where he graduated as a four year varsity football letterman in 1957. Following high school, he served in the United States Army Reserves.
David was proud to be a 50 year member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters. He was a skilled carpenter and often used his talents to help others.
David was strong in INTEGRITY, FAITH and KINDNESS. He loved God, his family, his church before himself. All who knew him will miss his GENTLE SPIRIT.
David is preceded by son David Luque Avendaño Jr, parents David and Feliza Avendaño, brother Rudy Avendaño, sister Dora Duran.
David is survived by his wife Eva, daughter and son-in-law Cynthia and Jim Denion of Goleta, daughter and son-in-law Eva and Brian Wells of Ojai, son and daughter-in-law Donald and Mary Avendaño of Nevada, daughter-in-law Benjean Braun of Wyoming, 16 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, brothers and sister-in-law’s, Raul and Mary Avendaño of Ventura and Joe and Annie Avendaño of Fillmore, along with numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to:

A rosary will be recited at 7pm, Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Saint Sebastian Catholic Church, 235 North 9th Street, Santa Paula. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am, Friday, October 2, 2015 also at Saint Sebastian Catholic Church. Committal & Interment to follow at Santa Paula Cemetery.
