Ernest L. Britton

“Ernie”

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Ernest L. Britton “Ernie”, 66 yrs old of Santa Paula. He played many roles in his life, a son, brother, soldier, husband, father, grandfather and friend. Ernie passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at his home in Santa Paula where he lived for 15 years.  

Ernie was born on November 19, 1948 in Rochester, Texas. He was proceeded in death by his parfents Millard and Mirtie Britton. He is survived by his daughter – Loree Quintana, son – John Britton, son in law – Danny Quintana, Daughter in law – Nancy Britton, grandchildren – Andrew, Giovanni, Peyton, JJ, Dylan, Amelia, Noah and Jordan.  Ernie was a loving brother to his sisters, Velma Cox, Shirley Fergerson and his brother Johnny Britton.  A special person who shared part of his life, Johnnie Britton.  

Ernie following in the footsteps of his father and brother, worked for Southern California Edison for 40 years.  

Ernie’s heart always belonged to his family.  He always loved his children and grandchildren unconditionally.  He showed his love for his grand kids by spoiling them with hugs, kisses and junk food.  Ernie is known for his love of Chips Ahoy cookies, Oreos, Entenmann’s doughnuts and cakes, vanilla ice cream, candy, working on his cars, music, John Wayne, cowboy movies, American classic movies, collecting baseball cards, coaching little league and using his mother’s recipe’s.  

If Ernie knew you, he loved you, because he had such a big heart he had an impact on many people who looked to him as a father figure.  

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Alexander Meyer, June and staff, Buena Vista, Nurse Tania, Nurse Shady, Ruben, Rosario, caregiver – Silvia Garcia and lots of special friends considered family.

A warm thank you to all our Family and Friends as Ernie would say, “piss on it!”

Services will be held at Skillin-Carroll Mortuary

located at 738 E Santa Paula St. in Santa Paula.

Viewing will be Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 7-9 p.m.

Funeral Service will be Friday, August 7, 2015 at 9:30 a.m.
