Nancy Carrier

Nancy Carrier passed away on July 12th at her home in Santa Paula after a two-year battle with colon cancer. The courage she showed while fighting this disease is only matched by the kindness she’s shown her entire life. Already a devoted wife and mother of 3, Nancy was a natural caretaker. She earned her CNA License and extended that caretaking to the patients and hospital staff she dealt with. Of her 30 years in healthcare, 25 years of it was at VCMC as a Medical Secretary. There, she became a vital co-worker and trusted friend to everyone. Her value became apparent to us as she fought her battle.

She managed to keep a group of high school friends, most now out of state, connected in the days before Facebook. Nancy and her rebellious little crew got together often and even vacationed together. Growing up an only child, they have been like brothers and sisters to her in life and through her illness.

Her   proudest accomplishment by far is her family. Nancy leaves behind her husband of 30 years Bob Carrier, her 3 grown children, Keri and her husband Jason, Julie, Robert and his wife Lauren, 8 grandchildren and her faithful dog Yuki.
