You have three different ways to save money to enjoy every ride at the 48th Annual Kiwanis Club Citrus Festival including the bargain bracelets that will let you ride any ride for six hours one day only!

It’s only $20 each pre-sale for the wrist adornments that can be used on Bracelet Day, Saturday, July 25 during the four-day run of the mega-carnival.

The 48th Annual Kiwanis Citrus Festival, the oldest such event in the county, will be held at Harding Park, July 23, 24, 25 and 26; hours Thursday and Friday are 5 to 11 p.m., Saturday and Sunday noon to 11 p.m.

There is a low-low $1 daily admission to the festival for all 6 years and older; 5 years and younger is free!

With the Thursday $1 Day (the $1 admission, $1 for each ride and some food specials for only $1) and ride ticket pre-sales ($14 for 20 tickets, a $6 savings) there are already opportunities to make your carnival cash last longer.

But longtime Citrus Festival Coordinator Bill Grant said it’s hard to beat the bargain of Bracelet Day to enjoy the dozens of thrilling rides for all ages provided by the famed G&S Shows, a.k.a. Guadagno & Son’s Amusements.

“Bracelet Day is really the way to go,” said Grant. “Last year we had someone that said their kids rode 50 times! Six hours later the kids came up and said ‘we’re tired...time to go.’ The kids really have a blast with the bracelets...it’s like all their carnival dreams come true!”

Pre-sale Bracelets are only $20 but Grant said they will also be available Saturday at the carnival for $25, “Still a bargain...but you save even more money by buying the bracelet in advance; when you make your pre-sale purchase they give you a ticket and you trade it in at the carnival for the bracelet — and start riding those great attractions.”

With Thursday $1 Day, Saturday’s Bracelet Day and the bargain priced pre-sale ride tickets good any day, Grant said, “There’s three ways to save money...and have more to spend on games and delicious carnival food favorites,” from sweet snacks to heartier fare.

Even if you miss $1 Thursday and Bracelet Saturday you can still save money by purchasing tickets in advance, just $14 for 20 tickets, a savings of $6.

Pre-sale Bracelets and tickets are available at Santa Paula Health & Fitness (847 E. Main St.), El Brillante Market (1016 E. Main St.), Chhinas Market (133 Dean Drive) and ARC (116 N. 10th St.); pre-sales end Friday, July 24, so don’t wait to get your bargain!

Remember: no matter what day you visit the 48th Annual Kiwanis Club Citrus Festival admission is only $1 for those 6 years and older, free for kids 5 years and younger!

“We’re looking forward to it,” said Grant. “We’re just having the carnival this year, no other attractions but we know everyone will have a great time...and we’re betting they come back again and again. Everyone loves a carnival — and we’ve got four days worth!”
