Santa Paula High School Art Show

The annual Santa Paula High School Art Show “Las Medallas de Oro” was held this past weekend at the Santa Paula Train Depot. The Santa Paula Society of the Arts donated awards. The display took place May 30-31. (Above) students look at some of the entries during a reception Friday. The winners were: Best of Show (Judge-Gerald Zwers) 1st Place – Viviana Avalar, Marcos Cervantes, Genesis Rojas and Kimberly Vasquez (group paper mache). 2nd Place – Jayde Reyes (white charcoal glasses).  3rd Place – Shayla Garcia (colored pencil book jacket). Third Dimensional (Judge0-Gerald Zwers) 1st Place – Jenny Soto (wire dinosaur). 2nd Place – Genesis Ortega (ceramic figure). 3rd Place – Brianna Gonzalez (wire seahorse). Honorable Mention – Micelle Ruiz (paper mache) and Melissa Haracha (paper mache TV).Second Dimensional (Judge Dolas Tubbs) 1st Place – David Alvarez (computer art-type setting). 2nd Place – Andrea Barreva (computer art-Circuit project). 3rd Place – Shayla Garcia (white charcoal-skull). Honorable Mention – Esmeralda Herrera (tempera paint-Andy Warhol project).
