Gary Lee Dowling
Gary Lee Dowling, 58, Santa Paula, passed away from complications of cancer on Saturday, March 21, 2015.
He was born April 27, 1956 in Ventura, CA to Virgil and Emmy Dowling. He graduated from Santa Paula High School 1974. He was last employed as a fuel truck driver for MJ Tank Lines.
Gary was a big fan of classic cars and owned several over his lifetime. He made it a point to go to Cruise Night in Santa Paula, and other car shows in the area.
Gary is survived by wife Heather Dowling, daughter LeAnn Dowling, sisters Evelyn Ray and Betty Roina, mother-in-law Virginia Jeffrey, sister-in-law Gail Cummings, uncle and aunt, Wendell and Lynne Dowling, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Gene Jeffrey, sister-in-law Pam Cummings, and nephew Brian Roina.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Santa Paula Animal Rescue Center, 705 E. Santa Barbara Street, Santa Paula, CA 93060, and/or (hospice) Buena Vista Butterfly Foundation, 143 Triunfo Canyon Road, Westlake Village, CA 91361.
A celebration of life will be held on Gary’s birthday, Monday, April 27, 2015, at 6 p.m., at Ventura Missionary Church, 500 High Point Drive, Ventura, followed by a gathering of friends and family at Garman’s Restaurant, 932 E. Main St., Santa Paula.
