The judges are coming to Santa Paula

It’s a fact.  America in Bloom Santa Paula and the city funded the 2015 application for our city to compete again in the national competition was accepted. Last year we earned a 4 out of 5 rating and would love to gain a 5 this year.  We will be judged in May, 2015. Two judges will visit all competing cities and choose the one that shows the efforts of the entire community.  That includes municipal departments, commercial businesses and residential areas.  

They will look at floral displays, public landscaped ares, types and care of city trees and park conditions.  Other areas are “best practices” for the environment, heritage preservation and tidiness of the city’s sidewalks, streets,  neighborhoods and road shoulders.  

Of course, the most important aspect will be community involvement.  We all need to work together on this beautification project.  We encourage all ages, all service and garden clubs to join us in our efforts.  This is an opportunity for local businesses and city workers to show their best landscape and environmental practices in this difficult drought period.  

We already have all the components to win!  America in Bloom Santa Paula will highlight all that we have with great enthusiasm.  Everyone can be a part of our success and show how proud you are to live in Santa Paula by sprucing up your own homes and gardens. We need everyone to participate fully.
