A call to the Santa Paula Police to report suspicious activity around a parked car led to the arrest of a local man on various charges Tuesday evening.

According to Santa Paula Police the incident was reported January 27 about 10:25 p.m.

The caller told police a male outside his home, located in the 500 block of Center Lane, was prowling the neighborhood with a flashlight and was attempting to open the doors of a parked vehicle.

When police responded they found Justin Gaeta, 19, of Santa Paula, hiding behind a vehicle.

Gaeta was taken into custody and arrested for suspicion of vehicle tampering and prowling before he was transported to the Main Jail in Ventura.

“It should be noted,” stated the SPPD release, “this is the same subject that was arrested on August 30, 2014 at 2:20 a.m. at Santa Paula High School for vandalism of the newly built buildings.”
