Vera M. Camacho

Our beloved Mother Vera M. Camacho, surrounded by her loving family, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015.  Vera was born December 10, 1929, in Santa Paula and was a lifelong resident.

Vera worked at packing houses in Santa Paula and Ventura followed by Gentry’s Frozen Foods in Oxnard.  She then started her career as a Community Worker for the Ventura County Health Department, from which she retired after 20 years.

Vera enjoyed going to Las Vegas and Laughlin.  She traveled to Italy, with her cousins, which included a trip to the Vatican where she saw Pope John Paul II.

Vera’s biggest joy was spending time with her family.  She could always be seen at her grandchildren’s games and activities cheering them on.  She was also an avid Laker’s fan.  She never missed a game.  Vera was so excited to see “her team” play live.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents, Tony Sr. and Roma Morua, her brother and sister-in-law Tony Jr. and Carmen Morua, her son-in-law Frank Fierroz, Sr.,  and brother-in-law Fernando Martinez.

Perez, and Isaiah Casas, and a great-great-grandchild on the way; nephew Michael (Christina) Morua, niece Patti (Jay) Widdows, who were very close and dear to her heart, as well as her other nieces and nephews.

A rosary will be recited at 10am, Thursday, January 8, 2015 followed immediately with the celebration of a Mass at Saint Sebastian Catholic Church, 235 N. 9th Street (corner of 9th and Santa Paula Street in Santa Paula with Father Thomas J.
