Beulah Cox Moore

“Well done, My good and faithful servant,” were the first words Beulah Cox Moore heard October 1st, 2014 as she was welcomed into heaven after 103 years and 10 days on earth.

Former Santa Paula resident, Beulah Cox Moore was born on September 21st 1911 and died while sleeping in her childhood home of Buffalo, MO.

Beulah moved with her husband, Nelson Marsh Moore to Saticoy in 1929, moving around California until settling in Santa Paula in 1946. Nelson and Beulah raised two daughters, Mary and Betty in Santa Paula.

Nelson preceded Beulah in death in 1987, as did daughter Mary in 1989, and grandson-in-law Johnny Howard in 1995.

Beulah is survived by daughter Betty Rickman of Urbana, MO. Granddaughters Christine Howard of Ridgecrest, CA, Cathleen Cole of Watertown, WI, and Belinda Rickman of Urbana. Grandson-in-law Kenneth Cole of Watertown. Great-grandchildren Paul Howard of Bakersfield, CA and Rebekah Howard of Ridgecrest. Great-granddaughter-in-law Kristen Howard of Bakersfield. Great-great- grandson, Jason Charles Howard of Bakersfield. Other neices, nephews, and family member remember Beulah as well.

Days before her 100th birthday, Beulah flew to Bakersfield for Great-great-grandson, Jason’s dedication to the LORD. She was surrounded by family and friends for the dual celebration. Beulah said, “Life can’t get better.”

Beulah was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Santa Paula until her move to MO. When visiting Santa Paula she attended Life Way Baptist Church.

It’s impossible to summarize 103 years, but Beulah’s life centered on her faith in Jesus, family, friends, and those in need. While Beulah is missed, she’s rejoicing with loved ones who went before her into the presence of God.  A private graveside memorial will take place in the near future.

Donations in Beulah’s memory may be sent to Life Way Baptist Church for Vacation Bible School.
