Driver of vehicle in Hwy. 126 accident arrested for suspicion of DUI

A green BMW flew off Highway 126 last Wednesday evening and the driver was arrested for suspicion of being under the influence. CHP Officer Dave Webb said the mishap occurred at 9 p.m. when the westbound BMW went off the highway at Palm Avenue. The vehicle hit a light pole before it landed “at the bottom of Princeton Drive and West Santa Cruz Street,” said Webb.Santa Paula Fire, Santa Paula Police and the CHP responded to the scene. The vehicle sustained major damage and unidentified driver - a man believed to be in his late 20s - was injured.The man was treated on scene and then transported to the hospital with moderate injuries. “The subject was also arrested at the scene for suspicion of DUI,” said Webb.
