By Peggy Kelly Santa Paula Times A  Tuesday evening accident between two vehicles left debris scattered on the railroad tracks and the second vehicle  hundreds of feet from the point of impact but no one was injured.

Santa Paula Police Sgt. Cody Madison said the March 18 incident occurred at 9:51 p.m. when an eastbound pickup truck traveling on Telegraph Road “plowed into a sedan making a left turn off of Sheppard Road,” located west of Peck Road.

The force of the impact according to a witness, left the “wrecked truck in the street outside Circle K,” located at the corner of  Harvard Boulevard and Peck Road, “and the car in pieces on the railroad tracks some distance away.”

Madison said following the impact the truck, “Continued through the intersection, clipped one of the city poles with the crossing button and ended up on Harvard in the westbound lanes... “

The driver of the sedan “left the scene briefly to let people know about the accident,” that Madison said “resulted in quite a bit of damage to the vehicles but no injuries to those involved.’

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

No one was cited and Madison said there is no investigation as, “Other than the amount of debris and how spectacular it looked in the end it was a run of the mill accident,” that thankfully did not hurt anyone.
