Saturday Friends of Library Book Sale

The Friends of Blanchard Community Library will be offering two hardback books for only $1 and buyers are encouraged to bring their own bags or cardboard boxes to carry their bargains home. The Big Spring Book Sale will be held May 4, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the north parking lot of the library located at 119 N. 8th Street.

And speaking of bargains, the famed Silent Auction will be held as usual but without a prior public announcement of the rare and collectible books that will be available for the bidding. You’ll just have to find out for yourself at the Silent Auction, to be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. 

For very little green you can go home with plenty of books: hardbacks 50¢ each, paperbacks 25¢ and Better Books starting at only $1 each. Also available at the Big Spring Book Sale are records, tapes, videos, CDs, puzzles and magazines, among other items, all bargain priced. 

Friends of Blanchard Community Library work year-round to present the Spring and Fall sales, where the low prices make the events the most popular Ventura County! There is always something for every taste in books, from biography and history to literature and politics to children’s and mysteries to how-to and how-not-to and everything in between. All items are carefully sorted into categories on clearly marked tables so browsers know exactly where to find their favorites.
