Isbell Middle School’s Associated Student Body (ASB) along with Santa Paula’s Clasique Touch Car Club and Ventura County’s Exclusives Only Car Club recently sponsored Isbell Middle School’s 2nd Annual Car Show.
Over 140 cars and 11 bicycles were in the show on the backfield and basketball courts of the school. Cars clubs from as far as Guadalupe attended the show and arrived as early as 6am. Food & entertainment were provided as well as coffee, juice, pan dulce, and donuts to the crowd who showed up to view the beautiful cars.
Admission was free, and the car registration fee of only $15.00 was donated to the ASB program which distributes it throughout the year to many activities and organizations that benefit all the students on Isbell’s campus.
“The car show is always a great fundraiser for us,” stated Mr. Mark Lopez, ASB advisor, “we can provide the community a free and fun day to view all these beautiful cars in our Santa Paula and Ventura County communities and at the same time raise some money for the students at our school.”
Over 53 awards were given out, ranging from low rider bicycle awards and the top 3 winners from classes beginning in the 1930’s all the way up to this year’s current cars. Overall, the car show was a tremendous success and Lopez thanked everyone who was involved in the planning and running of the car show that made it such a success. “This is a yearly event and we look forward to everyone attending next year and hopefully having more than 200 cars. Remember, it’s fantastic, fun, and best of all...free!!! So mark your calendars for next April and plan on attending Isbell’s 3rd annual Car Show and enjoy the day with your family and friends.”
