Rachel T. Purcell
It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Rachel Torres Purcell, who passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2009 at the age of 89. Rachel was born on September 5, 1919 in Ventura, California. Rachel devoted 30 years of her life working as a manager of a retail store in Oxnard.
Rachel was an amazing, loving individual who always made sure the people around her were always taken care before her. “We will miss her beautiful smile and her tender laugh.”
She is preceded in death by her parents Elvira and Pablo Torres, sister Merced T. Baca, husband Richard Mena and son Roland. Also her second husband Jim K. Purcell.
She leaves behind her beloved cousin Marie Duncan of Santa Paula, Lucille Guerin of Maui, Hawaii, Luis Fregoso of Modesto, California and Marilyn Hastings of Modesto, California.
Rachel’s family will be having private services.
Arrangements are under the direction of Funeraria del ángel Stetler Mortuary, 128 S. 8th St., Santa Paula.
