Lucia “Lucy” Howery
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lucia “Lucy” Howery at her home December 20, 2008. Lucy passed away peacefully with her devoted friends Gabriella Reeves, MaryAnn Reynolds and Barbara Vogel at her bedside.She was preceded in death by her husband Mel Howery and mother Nelda Ferrari.Born Lucia Ferrari on April 20, 1931 in Trieste, Italy, she came to the United States as a young woman, traveled around for years in many U.S. States and abroad, and finally settled in Ventura and Santa Paula, where she met fell in love with and married her beloved husband Mel Howery. She was employed in banking and retired after 28 years of service.She loved to have a good time, and enjoyed her shopping, dancing, movies, Las Vegas trips and just being with her friends who loved and respected her.Lucia is survived by her stepdaughter Laurie and cousin Martha Williams.
