The Santa Paula Rotary Club delivered Christmas stockings to seniors again this year. 200 stockings were stuffed with oranges, sugarless candy and canes, socks, games and personal items. This year the recipients were also presented with a beautiful poinsettia plant from Do Rights Nursery.
The stockings were delivered to residents at Twin Pines Healthcare and Santa Paula Healthcare by the Interact Club and Honor Society students from Santa Paula High School. The students were led in Christmas carols by Pam Thompson as they walked the hallways.
Each year there are many stockings left over that are delivered to the Community Senior Center. The Christmas Stocking program was envisioned many years ago by Ginger Gherardi, who still serves as chairperson for the event.
