Boys and Girls Club holds “American Idol” competition

Children at the Santa Paula Boys and Girls Club participated in an American Idol-style talent competition last week. Eight youngsters took part in the show, which featured staff members playing the roles of Randy, Paula and Simon. Andrea Ceja (above) took first place, singing “Nobody’s Perfect.” Second place was won by Rosa Mara Deciga, singing “Rock Star”; and third was taken by Christopher Mefford with his rendition of “You have To Trust Me.” Other participants were Alexis Moncada, Kelly Kroon, Samantha Rodriguez, Jazlyne Ramirez and Matt Tamayo.
